MAYPOP PASSION FLOWER VINE ( Passiflora incarnata ) This is a very hardy species of Passion Flower Vine and native to the eastern half of the United States. In 1620 Catholic priests in Peru saw a religious symbolism to this plant. The name 'passion flower' is said to derive from a resemblance of the blue passion vine's flower to the crown of thorns placed on Christ's head. Others say that the parts of the plant symbolize features of Crucifixion, known as The Passion of Christ This variety produces beautiful blue sometimes a light or dark purple flowers and attractive foliage. Grow as annual or tender herbaceous perennial ZONES 3-5, or as Perennial ZONES 6-9 Can also be grown indoors in containers.

BLACK-EYED SUSAN VINE (Thunbergia alata) - Also known as "Clock Vine" these tender vines are native to tropical Africa, South Africa, tropical Asia and India. The ovate to triangular leaves grow up to 4 inches long and they produce flowers that may grow solitary or in clusters. This variety produces golden-yellow sometimes orange flowers with a brownish-purple eye. Grow on a trellis, arbor, fence or even in a large pot or hanging basket. Grow as Annual in ZONES 3-9.
