Western Riding Lessons Available!
We currently have spaces available for new students. Lessons are private on a "one on one" basis - no group lessons. We also teach the basics in competition events (pole bending, cones, barrel racing - clover leaf, texas and arena race). Our students are having a great time! If you would like to come out and join us for lessons, please feel free to call or email for more information. * Ages 8 and up.
What you can expect to learn:
* Place and adjust a halter and tie the horse
* Demonstrate proper grooming
* Demonstrate proper horse handling on the ground
* Saddle and bridle correctly
* Maintain acceptable position of: the body, the legs, the hands
* At the 3 gaits: Walk, Trot, Canter
* Demonstrate the proper aids for the three gaits and recognition of leads
* Demonstrate properly the elementary method of stopping and backing up
* (For those interested) The basics in competion events - Pole bending, cones,
texas barrel race, arena race and clover leaf.
